Holcombe Hunt

Taken on New Year’s Day 2022 are some photos of the Holcombe Hunt event at the Dresser Arms, Wheelton, Lancashire. The Hunt then went for a brief gallop around a local field then paid a visit to the Red Lion in the centre of the village before enjoying another galloping across another field or two. The weather was kind and the event well attended with around fifty horses, maybe thirty hounds and hundreds of onlookers.

With events like this one, there is always a worry that some people may object due to the fox hunting that used to take place many years ago but was banned in 2004/2005 and thankfully no one objected to this event.

This was also chance to try out my new mirrorless camera (as of Christmas 2021), the Canon EOS R3 along with three lenses: the RF15-35f2.8ISL, the RF24-70f2.8ISL and the RF70-200f2.8ISL.
